How the use of color and shapes are affecting your college marketing

Have you ever taken the time to think about colors and shapes when designing your advertising? There is a good chance that the choices you make with each are having an effect on today’s youth. We recently sat down with our college student research panel and got an earful of their thoughts and opinions about advertising design directed towards them.

For many of the case examples, The Campus Outlook panel was asked to look at different on-campus advertisements with three different color schemes. The students were asked to select their “favorite” and “least favorite” and then explain how the colors made them feel. The same process was repeated with shapes on call-to-action buttons.  Their answers were compelling and provided us with valuable feedback that will help any brand trying to advertise to college students.
